Cradle-to-Cradle

For a long time it was thought that our natural resources were inexhaustible and as a result these resources were consumed more and more during the first industrial revolution and the associated technological progress. A linear system of mining raw materials, using them and disposal of materials was created. We call this "cradle to grave".

Despite the fact that we now know for sure that our natural resources will dry up in the future and that drawing from the sources does a lot of harm to nature, the industry still produces the same way and people remain faithful to this outdated model. Raw materials are extracted and turned into products that end up on the rubbish dump, in nature or in the incinerator. The value of materials is thus lost forever.

The Cradle-to-Cradle concept provides an alternative to this system. Materials are transformed into nutrients within application cycles, in which the idea of waste (as we currently know it) no longer exists.
